“At The Potter’s House, we believe in deep conversation, creative expression, and community transformation. For us, community transformation starts with supporting people so that they can fully show up for their work, passions, the people they love, and themselves. We know that paid family and medical leave provides critical time for working people to care for a new baby, a critically ill loved one or their own medical need but that far too few have access to paid leave nationwide. Full-time and regular part-time employees who have completed one year of employment without a break in service and have worked at least 1,000 hours in the 12 months preceding the leave request are eligible for FMLA benefits. We also support the FAMILY Act, a national plan currently being considered in Congress that would provide affordable, secure paid family and medical leave for all working people. The FAMILY Act is necessary to support large and small businesses, strengthen communities and create a more just world.”
